This is meant for hardcore nature - wildlife enthusiasts and Wildlife photographers who wants to see and Photograph the elusive Leopard. This itinerary consists of six Safari game drives which will surly maximize the number of sights of different species living in the park. Elephants, Leopards, Sloth Bears, Deer, Crocodiles, wild buffalos, Jackal, mongoose and many varieties of Birds can be seen in many occurrence.
Photographing in Wilpattu is very chllanging due to its low light conditions as a result of heavy forest canopy. So you need to be prepare with fast lenses, tripods and bean bags. It is highly advisable to maintain self discipline when near the Leopards since the Leopards tend to move away when they hear human noises. When undisturbed the Loepards stay in its teritory carelessly about the visitors.
Itinerary begins when you are picked up at Wilpattu National Park entrance by our team. The first journey to the campsite itself is a short Safari game drive but the real Safari begins after your lunch at the safari camp site (Evening Safari). You will be back again at the campsite for an overnight stay after the evening Safari. The next day early morning Safari will provide you chances of spotting the Leopards. So we suggest you to wake up early in order to have more time for the Safari and have a late breakfast.
Though you have two full day of Safari game drives on the second and third days each, in different intervals you need to come to the safari campsite for meals. During the noon most of the animals seek shade inside the jungle and there will be less chances of seeing them in abundance during that time which is an ideal time for you to relax at the campsite under a shade in a hammock. On day four your check out time is 11AM
