Sri Lanka Junglefowl (Gallus lafayettii)

Also known as the Sri Lankan Jungle Fowl it is found fairly widespread from the lowlands to highlands, homing in forests and dense scrub lands. The bird can be observed in the Kitulgala Forest, Yala National Park, Sinharaja Rain Forest, Mitirigala Forest Reserve, Kitulgala Forest Reserve, The Peak Wilderness Sanctuary, Bodhinagala Forest, Morapitiya Forest Reserve, Kanneliya Forest Reserve, Hiyare Forest Reserve, Kalametiya Sanctuary, Bundala National Park, Kirinda-Palatupana Wetlands, Yala National Park, Nilgala Forest Reserve and Galoya National Park, Kumana National Park, Horton Plains National Park, Udawattakele Forest Reserve, Riverstone Area, Wasgamuwa National Park, Sigiriya Sanctuary and vicinity, Minneriya National Park and the Wilpattu National Park.
